Dryer Fire Safety
Posted On: Apr 01, 2014

On Sunday March 30th the Wells Fire Department responded to a reported dryer fire in a residence. Members were attending mandatory annual training at Highpine Fire Station which was on the other side of town from where the fire was reported. Mutual aid was requested from the Ogunquit Fire Department due to the delayed response. Upon arrival the fire was reported to be contained to the dryer. The fire was extinguished quickly and did not extend to the structure.

The Wells Professional Firefighters would like to remind everyone of the dangers of dryers. Here is more information from the National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA)
